White House in lockdown; man arrested for throwing package over fence

WASHINGTON - The White House was locked down on Wednesday after a man apparently flung his personal belongings over the north fence of the complex.

American media reported President Barack Obama was inside when the man threw a package with his mobile phone and some papers into the White House compound. CNN reported that the man has been taken into custody.

The White House was also in lockdown on Tuesday, after a man apparently tried to jump over the west fence of the Eisenhower executive office building.
