PM to speak on economic developments

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will address members of The Economic Club of Washington on economic developments in Asia and the potential for US economic engagement with the region this morning.

In the afternoon (tomorrow morning Singapore time), he will meet US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office, and Mr Trump will host him to a working lunch attended by key officials from both countries.


Singapore International Energy Week

The 10th edition of the annual Singapore International Energy Week starts today.

The five-day event is set to kick off with the Singapore Energy Lecture by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, with a focus on the theme for this year's event: Rethinking energy; navigating change.


Singapore's latest inflation data

The consumer price index for last month, set to be released today, is tipped to have risen a mild 0.4 per cent from a year earlier on the back of higher petrol prices. This would be the same pace as in the previous month. The tepid job market and lingering concerns of uneven growth are expected to keep prices in check over the rest of the year.
