Trump to visit Las Vegas

US President Donald Trump plans to travel to Las Vegas today - the scene of America's worst mass shooting in recent times - after meeting storm victims in Puerto Rico.

Mr Trump's visit to Puerto Rico offers a chance to show his commitment to rebuilding an island that remains almost completely without power and is short on food, water, medicine and other supplies nearly two weeks after Hurricane Maria.

New B-737 joins SilkAir fleet

SilkAir will welcome its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft today, as part of the airline's move to renew its fleet. It will show off a new cabin look and feel, as well as improved seat features and in-flight entertainment.

US non-manufacturing data out today

Data for United States non-manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) will be released today by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). ISM on Monday released figures for manufacturing PMI, which had expanded last month at the fastest pace in 13 years. For last month, the majority of service providers are optimistic about business conditions going forward after non-manufacturing PMI rose to 55.3 in August.
