WASHINGTON - North Korea's proposal of talks with the United States on denuclearisation is being seen with clear-eyed scepticism in Washington as analysts warned of a long road ahead for real change.

A senior US administration official told reporters "all options are on the table" and the US' posture towards North Korea will not change until it sees credible movement.
