Walt vision: Original Disneyland map sells for record $982,000

The late American animator entrepreneur and film producer Walt Disney's "presentation map", which he drew in the 1950s to sell the idea for his legendary theme park Disneyland to investors, at Van Eaton Galleries in Sherman Oaks, California.

The map sold for US$708,000 (S$982,000) at an auction of Disney memorabilia on Sunday. The price set a record for Disney maps and was among the highest to be paid for a piece of Disney ephemera at auction, organisers said. The identity of the buyer was not disclosed.
