Virginia man charged with supporting ISIS: US Department of Justice

WASHINGTON (REUTERS) - A Virginia man who allegedly trained with Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for nearly one month earlier this year was charged in a complaint unsealed on Thursday (June 9) with providing material support to the militant group, the US Department of Justice said.

Mohamad Jamal Khweis, 26, was captured by Kurdish forces in northern Iraq in March. He will have his initial appearance at the federal courthouse in Alexandra this afternoon, a DOJ statement said.
