WASHINGTON (REUTERS) - US House Speaker Paul Ryan has spoken to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running Mike Pence by phone on Wednesday (Nov 9), following their stunning gains in the race to the White House.

Mr Ryan had "very good conversations" with the two men and congratulated Mr Trump, an NBC reporter said on Twitter.
