Not only did Miss Universe host Steve Harvey make a fool of himself in announcing the wrong winner, it now appears that he might have caused a rift among the beauty pageant's contestants.

New video footage has emerged, which shows Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, being snubbed by several contestants as she tries to approach Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, after the show.

Ms Wurtzbach, the actual winner, was crowned after Mr Harvey had initially announced that Ms Gutierrez had won. The embarrassing mix-up was watched by audiences all over the world during the live telecast - and online afterwards - with many criticising the gaffe.

The "unseen" footage, posted on the Facebook page of online beauty pageant magazine Missosology, highlighted the awkward moment as Ms Gutierrez's friends and supporters gathered in a circle to console her.

Ms Wurtzbach, who was trying to join in, was told to "step back" by one of the girls. Miss Montenegro, dressed in green, was seen shaking her head and walking away.

The group then started chanting "Colombia, Colombia" after Ms Wurtzbach had departed.

In just 17 hours, the video has already attracted more than 4 million views and over 26,000 comments.

The majority of comments slammed the rude behaviour of the contestants who snubbed Ms Wurtzbach.

Wrote Facebook user Richmon John Prats: "This is plain wrong. It is not Miss Philippines' fault that the wrong winner was announced. Get a life people! You blaming it on a girl who humbly accepted the first announcement of being 1st runner up? Wow. She was even shocked! [What] is wrong with you people?"

Missosology also posted another viral clip of an interview with Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek, who claimed that none of her fellow beauty queens was rooting for Ms Wurtzbach.

"I'm not happy with the results," she added.

Speaking to The New Paper, Miss Singapore Lisa Marie White confirmed that "everyone felt so bad for Miss Colombia and crowded around her to console her".

"I think it took the moment away from Miss Philippines," said Miss White. "I didn't manage to console Miss Colombia or congratulate Miss Philippines as there were already so many people around them."
