Trump to meet retired Admiral James Stavridis, reportedly to discuss state secretary post

WASHINGTON (REUTERS) - President-elect Donald Trump will on Thursday (Dec 8) meet retired US Navy Admiral James Stavridis, a former supreme allied commander of Nato and dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, a Stavridis spokesman said .

"There has been no discussion of a position in the Trump administration," Stavridis spokesman Juli Hanscomm said on Sunday, responding to reports that Mr Trump was interested in Admiral Stavridis as a potential secretary of state.

The latter was once vetted to be the running mate of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
