WASHINGTON • US President Donald Trump is reportedly in the sights of special counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading an FBI probe into alleged Russian meddling in last year's presidential polls.

Mr Mueller is looking into whether Mr Trump tried to obstruct justice during a meeting with FBI chief James Comey, whom he later sacked, The Washington Post reported, citing senior officials.

Mr Trump yesterday slammed what he called a "witch hunt", and accused investigators of making up a "phony story".
