Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's fame has spread to India, where his supporters celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday.

The celebration in the Indian capital, New Delhi, was organised by a little-known right-wing group Hindu Sena, which considers Mr Trump a hero.

The group hailed Mr Trump as the "saviour of humanity" and the "messiah" against Islamic radicalism. Hindu Sena leader Vishnu Gupta said he hoped Mr Trump would win the US presidential election in November and fulfil his promise of fighting Islamic extremism. Last month, the group organised an event to pray for his success in the polls.
