SAN FRANCISCO, USA - Instagram is following the latest algorithmic trend, creating a look similar to Facebook and Twitter for its new feed.

Instagram has announced that it will change the order of posts you see on your feed, so that now the app will order photos and videos in your feed "based on the likelihood you'll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting, and the timeliness of the post."

People miss about 70 per cent of their feed on average, according to Instagram and the company hopes this new feature will ensure that the best content isn't missed. The changes should start "in the coming months."
