More than five inches of rain fell in Worcester, Massachusetts, flooding streets and prompting water rescues.

Officials in Worcester warned people to stay off the roads while the city was lashed with heavy rain, Friday night.

Some drivers didn't listen.

A resident said the cars already had water inside of them when he came out of his dorm room to watch the storm: "And then I just watched it for like, an hour, just getting higher and higher."

Meteorologists say Friday was the second wettest October day on record for the city.

Other areas in central and eastern Massachusetts experienced flash flooding - with officials warning that more rain may be on the way.
