Part of the 2017 lights for New York's famous New Year's Eve celebrations arriving in Times Square on Thursday amid freezing temperatures.

Up to one million spectators will gather on the street on Dec 31 to watch the New Year's Eve Ball drop from the flagpole atop One Times Square.

At the stroke of midnight, the ball's lights will dim and the numerals 2017 will light up, shining brightly above the crowd.
