UN checking seven reported chemical incidents in Syria

BEIRUT (REUTERS) - UN chemical weapons inspectors in Syria are investigating seven cases of alleged chemical or biological weapons use, including three incidents around Damascus after the Aug 21 attack which almost triggered US air strikes.

A statement from the United Nations in Damascus on Friday said the team expected to finalise its work in Syria on Monday, and was working on a comprehensive report which it hoped would be ready by late October.
