Ukraine crisis: US Kerry says Russia looking for 'pretext to invade' Ukraine

KIEV (AFP) - US Secretary of State John Kerry accused Russia on Tuesday of looking for a "pretext" to invade Ukraine after taking de-facto control of the ex-Soviet state's strategic Crimea peninsula.

"I think that it is clear that Russia has been working hard to create a pretext for being able to invade further," Kerry told reporters after meeting Ukraine's new Western-backed interim leadership in Kiev.
