TEHERAN (REUTERS) - A strong 8.0 magnitude earthquake struck Iran, near the border with Pakistan, on Tuesday at a depth of 73 miles, the US Geological survey said.

Tremors were felt across the Gulf region and in New Delhi.

The quake struck at 1044 GMT (6.44 pm on Tuesday, Singapore time).
