Mr Matthias Wuersching is the proud owner of this winning 901kg pumpkin which netted him a €1,500 (S$2,300) prize at the German Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off on Sunday. Last year's winning entry weighed in at 856kg. On the last day of this annual pumpkin festival - which runs from Sept 2 to Nov 6 - the winners in various categories will be invited to smash their pumpkins and remove the seeds for sale.
