MOSCOW (REUTERS) - Russia has detained an American citizen accused of trying to recruit a Russian intelligence officer to work for the Central Intelligence Agency, Russia's RIA news agency said on Tuesday.

It said the man was an employee at the US embassy in Moscow but also worked for the CIA.

Russia's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday summoned US Ambassador Michael McFaul, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, but gave no further details.
