Police probe 'endangerment' complaint from actress in relationship with Hollande

PARIS (AFP) - French police have opened a probe into a complaint of "endangerment" by paparazzi from actress Julie Gayet, whose affair with President Francois Hollande made global headlines.

A judicial source said on Friday that the complaint for "endangering the lives of others" had been taken up by Paris prosecutors, but provided no other details.

It follows a previous criminal complaint by Gayet for breach of privacy against magazine Closer, which revealed her affair with Mr Hollande last month.

Mr Hollande split with longtime partner Valerie Trierweiler following the revelations but has refused to comment further on the scandal.
