PRETORIA (AFP) - The trial of Oscar Pistorius was adjourned until Tuesday after South Africa's Paralympian star pleaded not guilty to murdering his girlfriend and the defence grilled the first state witness.

The trial will resume on Tuesday at 09:30 am (3.20pm Singapore time) in the North Gauteng High Court when the defence will continue cross examining Pistorius' neighbour, Michelle Burger, who spoke of hearing chilling screams from a woman the night Reeva Steenkamp died.
