Turkey-Saudi meeting on Qatar crisis

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is holding talks with Saudi King Salman in Saudi Arabia today, as part of efforts to resolve a crisis involving Qatar and its neighbours in the Gulf.

Turkey is a close ally of Qatar and has troops stationed in the tiny emirate.

Preview of Tuas West Extension

Commuters will get a peek at the Tuas West Extension today. The four MRT stations along the extension will be opened to the public from 12pm to 8pm. Commuters can also ride trains along the extension for free.

The extension, which extends the East-West Line from the existing Joo Koon MRT station, opens on Sunday.

Release of May export figures

IE Singapore will release last month's figures for exports today. Trade-related sectors such as electronics manufacturing have been picking up due to stronger global demand. On Wednesday, private sector economists gave a more upbeat assessment of the economy, predicting that growth would come in at 2.5 per cent.
