Talks to pick Syrian representatives

Saudi Arabia will host a three-day meeting of Syrian opposition groups in Riyadh starting today, aimed at choosing representatives for international talks on Syria that backers hope to convene by Jan 1. The meeting will bring together at least 65 representatives of political and armed groups opposed to the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but leaves out terror groups, as well as Kurdish factions involved in the conflict.


Update for minister on cyber security

Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim will visit the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) today, to view its facilities and labs.

Dr Yaacob, who is also the Minister-in-charge of Cyber Security, will find out more about the latest anti-hacking work done by SUTD's researchers during his visit.


ADB report on Asia's growth slowdown

The Asian Development Bank will today launch the latest Asian Economic Integration report, which focuses on the factors behind Asia's recent growth slowdown, the region's economic outlook and the regional impact of China's structural transformation.

It also includes an analysis of the critical role of special economic zones in the region's economic expansion.
