Turkey's election board proposes Nov 1 for snap polls

ANKARA (AFP) - Turkey's higher election board proposed Nov 1 as a possible date for early elections, after efforts to form a coalition government following inconclusive June 7 polls has so far failed, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported on Thursday.

The proposal, which will be presented to political parties before a final decision is made, comes three days ahead of an August 23 deadline to form a new government.
