ISIS hostage John Cantlie appears in new propaganda film

(REUTERS) - Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) hostage John Cantlie reports from the front lines of the war in Syria.

The captive British journalist appears in an ISIS video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters.

The video shows show young boys in school - learning to become the "the mujahideen for the next generation".

Mr Cantlie, a freelance photojournalist, was kidnapped in Syria along with American freelance journalist James Foley in November 2012.

ISIS executed Mr Foley and released a video of his beheading in August. Since then, Mr Cantlie has appeared in several IS propaganda videos, entitled Lend Me Your Ears.

The highly-produced film from the Islamic State's media wing ends with an interview with a French militant who praises last month's Paris attacks in which 17 people were killed in three days of violence.

The unidentified fighter calls on French Muslims to start carrying out individual attacks and to "kill with knives".
