Author J.K. Rowling sends Harry Potter ebooks to Aleppo girl

A young girl in eastern Aleppo - who uploaded a video of her walking around the destruction of her home city - has caught the attention of Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who has sent her e-books and wished her well.

ALEPPO (Reuters) - Seven-year-old Bana Alabed has been watching her hometown of Aleppo slowly turn to rubble.

She posted videos of herself wandering bombed out neighborhoods on Twitter.

She has 95,000 followers now.

She caught the attention of best-selling author J.K. Rowling of Harry Potter fame after her mother sent a message to her that Bana loved watching Harry Potter movies and would love to read one of her books, too.

Rowling tweeted back.
