Members of the 13th Demi-Brigade of the French Foreign Legion forming a guard of honour during a visit by the French Defence Minister to the legion's base in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday. Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian was visiting French military troops in the region during the New Year holidays. He also visited the Jordanian air base from where French warplanes took off to launch strikes on Islamic State in Iraq and Syria oil installations close to the militants' Syrian stronghold of Raqqa on Friday.
