HARARE (AFP) - A district official from the party of Zimbabwe's prime minister was seized in the east of the country by four gunmen on Saturday as the country voted for a new constitution, the party's spokesman said.

"Our district secretary for Headlands was kidnapped this morning. He was taken from his home by armed people," Movement for Democratic Change spokesman Douglas Mwonzora said.
