PARIS (AFP) - French President Francois Hollande said a 15-year-old Roma schoolgirl whose deportation sparked nationwide student protests would be allowed to come back, but on her own.

"If she makes a request, and if she wants to continue her studies, she will be given a welcome, but only her," he said in televised remarks about the teenager, who was evicted from France earlier this month along with her family.
