A man steering a boat through dead fish in a breeding pond at Lake Maninjau in Indonesia yesterday. Thousands of fish at the fish farm in Agam regency in West Sumatra province died suddenly due to lack of oxygen caused by a sudden change in water conditions.

Mass deaths of fish in the lake have been a regular occurrence for 15 years, with overfarming generally blamed.
