Gold coins on display at the Museum Lueneburg, in Lueneburg, Germany. An amateur treasure hunter discovered two bags containing 217 gold coins, protected by tar board, on the edge of a field near Lueneburg that were apparently hidden during the National Socialism era, according to the State Monuments Office. The coins are believed to be part of a much larger stash of loot hidden by Reichsbank officials during World War II.
