Two-day EU summit begins

European Union (EU) leaders will meet today and tomorrow in Brussels. At the summit, they will agree to boost cooperation in the areas of security and defence, and express support for global trade and the Paris Agreement on fighting climate change, according to a draft joint statement.

Tie-up to boost use of data analytics

The National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre will unveil a three-year partnership with Tableau Foundation today to encourage more non-profit organisations to use data analytics in their work. Tableau Software, working through its foundation, has made its visual analytics software free to organisations in 192 countries so far.

US house price index out today

The United States house price index for April will be released tonight, giving investors a snapshot of one key indicator of the economy's health. The index has been posting steady growth, although a slight slowing is expected for April, with a gain of 0.5 per cent year-on-year projected, compared with March's 0.6 per cent rise.
