Video shows tornado ravaging northern Germany

(REUTERS) - The town of Buetzow in northern Germany is still in shock after a severe tornado swept through on Wednesday, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.

One bystander recorded the tornado on video as it passed through the countryside.

Dozens were injured in the storm and in Hamburg, one person was killed by falling debris.

The destruction was most severe in Buetzow where damage has been estimated in the millions of euros and many citizens were reported injured.

Cars were destroyed, trees upturned and buildings were damaged by the winds. A cyclist was severely injured by falling roof tiles and three houses were evacuated for fear of collapse.
