KIEV, July 31 (Reuters) - The Ukrainian Parliament overwhelmingly rejected Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniuk's resignation on Thursday after approving legislation he said was needed to avoid a default.

Mr Yatseniuk was applauded by deputies after the vote, which was shown on television.
