Ukraine watching Trump impeachment proceedings with trepidation

Many Ukrainian politicians fear that regardless of how the Trump impeachment hearings conclude over the next two weeks, allegations of corruption will forever be associated with Ukraine.

LONDON - As the impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump unfold in the United States Senate, the people of Ukraine - the country which through no fault of its own became the subject of the scandal now engulfing the Trump administration - can do little more than just watch with apprehension the proceedings in Washington.
A few Ukrainian leaders hope that some good may come from these hearings, and that being in the spotlight - even if it is for all the wrong reasons - could endear Ukraine to future American decision-makers.
