Moscow is set to hit back at Britain with its own raft of punitive measures after the West blamed Russia directly for a nerve agent attack on a former double agent in the English city of Salisbury.
Britain's key allies closed ranks against Russian President Vladimir Putin after British Prime Minister Theresa May announced the expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats and suspended high-level contacts, among other measures.
When asked yesterday if Russia planned to expel British diplomats from Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said: "We will, of course."
