No high hopes for EU-China summit which is unlikely to reverse the dip in ties

BERLIN - On Monday (Sept 14), German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is currently chairing the EU council, EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen and European Council president Charles Michel will meet China's President Xi Jinping for a summit through a video link.

But expectations are low for any tangible outcome at the meeting following the disappointing visit by Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi to European capitals in late August.
