(REUTERS) - Police in London released helmet camera footage on Tuesday showing a cyclist being pushed off her bike by a pedestrian in east London.

The footage was filmed at Whitechapel district's Sidney Street at 1700GMT on May 1 (1am on May 2 Singapore time).

It shows the pair exchanging words at a crossing before the man chases the cyclist up the road, shouting at her.

"You wanna put your finger up at me you mug? Come on, come on," he says before pushing her off her bike into the road.

The Metropolitan Police said the woman, who is in her 40s, did not require medical treatment but was upset after the incident.

She later sent the video to the police who have asked for help identifying the man they believe to be in his 40s.
