French mosques open for tea and a chat

Hundreds of French mosques, including the Great Mosque of Strasbourg, participated in an open-house event over the weekend, offering visitors the opportunity to come in for tea and chat about Islam in a country shaken by terrorist attacks.

Organised by the French Council of the Muslim Faith, it aims to stimulate dialogue about Islam and create a greater sense of "national cohesion".
