At least twelve killed in multiple car accident in Turkey

(Reuters) - At least twelve people, including nine Syrians, were killed in a multi-car crash in the southeast Turkish province of Sanliurfa on Sunday (March 29) and seven others were wounded, local TV channel Kanal Urfa reported.

Four of the victims died on the spot and eight of them lost their lives in hospital, the channel reported.

Seven people were still being treated in a local hospital, it said.

The accident happened on a slippery highway connecting Sanliurfa province to the southeast district of Akcakale near the Turkish-Syrian border when a concrete mixer, a minibus and a car collided.
