Egyptian police fire teargas on clashing rival factions

CAIRO (REUTERS) - Police fired tear gas on Friday to break up clashes between opponents and supporters of ousted Islamist President Mohamed Mursi in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria, security sources said.

Egypt has been gripped by turmoil since Mursi's overthrow on July 3 after mass protests against his rule, prompting his Muslim Brotherhood to organise daily protests in the streets.
