Deadly Arizona blaze now 45 per cent contained

PRESCOTT, Arizona (REUTERS) - Firefighters have tightened their grip on a blaze in central Arizona that killed 19 of their comrades, extending containment to 45 per cent of its perimeter as they continued to subdue the deadliest United States wildfire in 80 years.

The new containment figure, up from 8 per cent reported earlier on Wednesday, came as authorities said 114 buildings had been damaged or destroyed by the flames and that they feared more bodies could be discovered during mop-up operations.
