Czech president appoints new centre-left government

PRAGUE (AFP) - The Czech president on Wednesday appointed a new centre-left government bent on jump-starting the economy and creating jobs as the EU member struggles to recover from a record-long recession.

Leftist President Milos Zeman said the three-party majority coalition helmed by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka was the "only one possible" in the wake of October's snap election.
