A huge amount of algae has accumulated along the coast in Haiyang city because of the recent storms and changing tides.

Many government departments are actively working to clear the affected areas to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the beaches.

The algal phenomenon is usually caused by an abundance of nutrients in the water, especially phosphorus.

Enormous blooms appeared in the Yellow Sea in 2007, according to media reports, but they said the cause of those remain uncertain.
