A carpark with rooftop solar panels that also help shade parked cars, at the Garden City Mall in Nairobi.

The carpark, opened recently at the shopping mall, is Africa's largest solar carpark and aims to cut carbon emissions by 745 tonnes annually from non-renewable energy sources.

The carpark has a total of 3,300 solar panels, which are capable of generating 1,256 MWh of electricity annually.
