At least 129 dead after boat capsizes in DR Congo: Officials

LUBUMBASHI, RD Congo (AFP) - At least 129 people drowned after a boat capsized on Thursday night on Lake Tanganyika in the south-east of Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a new official death toll.

"Rescue workers recovered a total of 129 bodies," an official said.

On Saturday, the provincial government said at least 26 people had died.
