Multimedia: Wheeling with Dad
Kelvin Aik, 36, dreams of doing "guy things" with his two-year-old son Jovan. These include cycling, go-karting, skydiving and water-skiing.
But Kelvin is a paraplegic from the waist down and has been wheelchair-bound for the past 17 years.
That isn't deterring him from experiencing life to the fullest with his family.
"I'm going to be a father he will be proud of. I do a lot of things a lot of fathers don't. I want him to be proud of me like I am of him," he says. He wants to expose his son to as many activities as possible so that they have common interests when he grows up and he can be a role model.
"At the end of the day, regardless whether I'm wheeling or walking, I still have to be a father."
