Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Turn the interactive dial in The Straits Times' new e-book, Singapore Night//Day, to find something interesting, whether you are a foodie, adventurer or culture vulture.

Even if you are up at 2am and itching to party till dawn, the e-book has recommendations that can help you keep your finger on the pulse of Singapore.

Launched today, the multimedia package is an interactive guide for both tourists looking to explore the Garden City, and locals, who can discover hidden nooks on the island - night and day.

Inside the book are travel tips and a fun directory of activities that make the city an exciting and happening spot all day long.

Straits Times editor Warren Fernandez said: "This e-book will help Singaporeans, and friends from abroad, discover some real gems all round our island, around the clock. It is one of several things we are doing to mark Singapore's 50th anniversary and ST's 170th birthday this year."

An interactive clock in the e-book acts as the gateway to the guide, which offers more than 60 stories on activities and locations, repurposed from the newspaper's archives.

There are four time belts to choose from: morning to noon, noon to sundown, evening to midnight and midnight to morning. Each time quadrant consists of four categories of stories: outdoors, arts and heritage, food and shopping, and entertainment.

Find out where to sweat it out in a midnight soccer game or cook up traditional kampung flavours; unearth secret gardens and discover what "glamping" is all about.

All the stories are written by ST's journalists, and are accompanied by photographs, maps, directions and useful links.

The e-book, which can be downloaded for free, is sponsored by HSR International Realtors and supported by the SG50 Celebration Fund. "We are honoured to partner The Straits Times in launching the Singapore Night//Day e-book to commemorate Singapore's 50th anniversary," said Mr Donald Yeo, head of marketing and training at HSR.

"As a company, we have witnessed the nation's development, particularly in the property scene, and we are excited to be part of this e-book, which showcases the plethora of what Singapore has to offer."

Don't miss other publications in ST's Star e-books app, including The Life, a monthly e-magazine on travel, food, pursuits, style and design. The latest issue is available for free download from today.
