New e-book looks at national week of mourning for Mr Lee Kuan Yew; e-book free for download

The Straits Times has launched an e-book that looks at how Singaporeans reacted to news of Mr Lee Kuan Yew's passing on March 23.

The e-book, Lee Kuan Yew: The Final Journey, contains more than 100 images of the seven days of national mourning, as well as video and audio clips. Some are being revealed for the first time.

The e-book is available in The Straits Times Star E-books app for iPad (not iPhone) and Android tablets and smartphones. It is free for everyone to download.

Said ST editor Warren Fernandez: "The events of the past weeks have been moving and momentous. Many of our readers told us they had followed our coverage, in print and online, closely, and many wanted a way to remember and reflect on all that had happened. This e-book is meant to help them do that."

The e-book is sponsored by DBS Bank. To get the e-book:

  • Go to the Apple App store on your iPad, or Google Play Store on your Android tablet or smartphone.
  • Type "The Straits Times Star" to search for The Straits Times Star E-books app.
  • Download it onto your iPad or Android device.

You will find Lee Kuan Yew: The Final Journey inside the app.

The app is designed to work on iPad devices running iOS 6 and above. The app is best viewed on tablets. Because of its size, it is best downloaded over Wi-Fi.

The ST Star app also has the e-book Lee Kuan Yew: The Man And His Ideas. It extracts some chapters from the original 1997 book, and contains never-before-seen photos and never-before-heard audio of interviews with Mr Lee.

It is also free for download.
