Two more hours to vote in Punggol East

Four out of every five registered voters of Punggol East have cast their votes, said the Elections Department in its latest update.

It said that as of 5pm, 81 per cent of the 31,469 registered voters had already voted, with two hours to go before polls close at 8pm.

Residents continued to head to the polls in the afternoon to pick their Member of Parliament for the single member constituency.

The four candidates are Dr Koh Poh Koon from the People's Action Party, the Workers' Party's Ms Lee Li Lian, the Reform Party's Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam and Mr Desmond Lim of the Singapore Democratic Alliance.

Mr Jeyaretnam and Mr Lim were seen observing the proceedings at the polling centre at Rivervale Drive Block 143A between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
